Challenge the understanding of speculative design

I wanted to create a context that would make people understand and question our current state by seeing the design of future product placed in the future scenario. 

What would happen if scarcity of resources will be so obvious that we would need to make and create our own material? We would reach a new age of personalization and custom-made design within the new future scenario. People who would be target for this kind of new design approach will be the ones that appreciate craftsmanship and limited edition design pieces.

All crystals are created out of water and sugar within the time frame of 3-4 weeks. I was interested in seeing the change in people’s perception and associative response when they get to know how these samples of crystals are actually made.
