’’In search for tactility’’ is a tactile learning from archive of texture database

Nowadays, we live in a visually dominated culture and other senses are stimulated less and less. Many future forecasts have the idea of under-stimulation of our sensory system in the next few decades. Pathology of senses can give today’s technological age problems such as alienation, detachment and solitude.

The archive consists from different textures of textiles (from soft and smooth to gummy and metallic feelings). Every sample is a hand woven piece which presents one category , very different from another one by its characteristics. This texture database should be a basic tool for further projects.
